Mersisters setting out for an adventure on our great Door Peninsula. Cassandra and I spent the day strolling through the pine trees along the wild shoreline of Lake Michigan.
Our first stop driving up to Door County was Potawatomi State Park where the spectacular view at the top of the old ski runs is breathtaking. Your eyes are lead down the hill along the dirt path to a creek then into the woods and out to Green Bay. After closing our jaws back up we ventured to Cave Point for a little stroll and found ourselves dreaming as we walked through the cypress and tall pines weaving through the downed logs and over roots. A few moments were taken in as the rough and high Lake Michigan waves crashed against the white rocks we decided to come back to that spot another day. It was a bit crazier than we planned to get in 36º weather.
Stomachs growling we drove back down to Sturgeon Bay and checked out some vegan bar grub at the local Irish Bar Kitty O'Reilly's. It put our tummy growls back in order and we set out in search of a creamy beach sunset and Whitefish Dunes did not disappoint.
